Sunday Sunset Hike

We went on a hike to Emerald Lake as the sun was setting.  These two hikers are fast!  There are so many great outdoorsy things to do here.  Feels like we've barely scratched the surface!  Some guy hit on me in front of the kids and gave me his card with his number telling me he doesn't work so he has plenty of time to meet up…. Might not want to brag about being unemployed the next time you're looking for a date!  We had a good laugh about that on the way to Kurt and Karen's.  We stopped by for a quick visit on our way home.  Just love them!

Splash Park

So swimsuit?  No problem!  If it's summer, I want to be outside enjoying the sun!  We didn't have swimsuits but it was a nice evening so I encouraged the kids to just hop in anyways.  Sarah, Sophie, and Eva were in town for Education Week so we met up with Aunt Gayle and Michelle at the splash park for a nice summer evening.  Love seeing my kids so happy!

First Day of School

After a fun summer full of travel and adventures, Gracie and Ryan arrived just in time to start 6th and 4th grade.

best times in 2013

1.  Canoeing in Canada with all my favorite ants, uncles and cousins.
2.  My Caribbean Cruise with my sister and my dad.
3.  Going to lake Powell with my mom, ants, uncles, cousins, and grandma and grandpa Palmer.
4.  Playing tea party with hot chocolate, with my little cousins Sophie, Ava, Erica, and Annalise in Boulder City.
5.  Going to Arizona to see my cousins with my dad and my sister.
6.  Going to Washington to see my cousins ant, uncle, and grandma and grandpa walker.
7.  Second grade with my favorite friends and teacher Miss.Rovacchi.
8.  Ant Natalie's wedding.
Last but not least, going boating every week with my mom, my ant, my future uncle, and my grandma and grandpa Palmer.

Halloween Party

When I moved in, Brian was clear that he still wanted to throw his parties, so I knew what I was getting in to... or did I???  Our Halloween shindig ended up with 500 of our closest friends and the cops showing up twice!  At one point, before the height of the party we counted 120 people just in my great room!  There were points where you could barely move.  These are my friends that dressed up as Tetris- my favorite costume of the night.  They brought the music from the game and would fit their pieces together.  Clever!   The dance floor was hopping all night.  Surprisingly, the reason the cops showed up wasn't because of the noise but because people were "parking over the white line."  My favorite part of the night was when I was talking to the cops for the second time on the front porch and my friend Jacob Neilson, who was dressed like a SWAT team member, came out and said to them, "Don't worry, I've got everything under control."  Classic!
